Day one will consist of hiking a little over 5 miles to campsite 23 and setting up basecamp. Expect a delicious mountain dinner and wake to the smell of coffee and bacon in the morning before we start our day hike to the highest peak in the Smokies and 2nd highest peak east of the Mississippi River. We will also visit the highest bald in the Smokies and have lunch while enjoying some of the most spectacular views in the park. We will return to base camp in the evening for another night of sitting around the campfire and discussing the days beauty and fall asleep by the sound of the creek.
