If you take this hike during the heat of summer we can stop at campsite 68 and enjoy a swim in the creek. As we continue the hike down the trail in late summer we will stop to pick blackberries and blueberries to use in our dessert recipe after dinner. Campsite 69 is the perfect spot to sit by the fire and fall asleep to the sound of the creek. This is a tough loop hike with a big climb in the morning but the reward is the most spectacular views from Andrews Bald where we will have lunch and finish up by heading to the highest peak in the park and 2nd highest peak east of the Mississippi.
