If you have ever been interested in geology, this is your hike. Alum Cave Bluffs and Arch Rock are the major formations to stop and study on the ascent. Time, water and gravity have shaped this area over thousands of years, you begin to understand how small we are on earth and how nature's raw power can move mountains. You will also see how nature begins to repair itself with new plants and trees growing from old slide areas. Don't forget we're not even to Mt. LeConte yet because when we arrive we'll have lunch at Cliff Top and enjoy the view.
