If you think this hike is over after ascending 4100 ft, you'll climb a six story firetower to see beautiful views of Mt. Cammerer, Max Patch, Clingmans Dome, Mt. Pisgah and Mt. Mitchell. This is a great hike in the October when fall offers splendid views of red, orange and yellow across the park. Winter is another great time for viewing when the sky is crystal clear. This hike is a workout, prepare with pasta the night before.
