Do you have plans in the evening but want to get out away early in the day for some of the most magnificent views in the smokies away from the crowd? The trailhead is 15 miles off of the interstate down a road we may only pass one or two vehicles. It's a short climb to get to the top compared to other trails leading to the Mt. Sterling fire tower. We will have lunch looking at Mt. Cammerer, Max Patch, Clingmans Dome, Mt. Pisgah and Mt. Mitchell before getting you back for your dinner on the town. October will offer splendid views of red, orange and yellow across the park.
