After a short hike basecamp will be set up at campsite 38. Then lunch on Mt. Sterling and off on our day hike where we will never ascend or descend more than 500 ft the rest of the day. The venture will take us to Balsam High Top to get a view of the Cataloochee area, the southeastern portion of the park. We will return to camp in time to watch the sunset on the park from the top of the 6 story fire tower and take some of the most memorable pictures of your life. A delicious mountain dinner around a warm campfire will set the mode for discussion of the day's beauty.
